Day 5: A Choice of Allegiance

Day 5: A Choice of Allegiance
  • Scripture: Matthew 27:39-44, Revelation 22:20
  • Devotional:
As Jesus hung on the cross, He was mocked by bystanders, religious leaders, and even the thieves crucified alongside Him. This demonstrates the universal rejection of Christ by a sinful world. But the question remains: Where do we stand?
The sermon rightly stated that rejecting the Gospel, even after hearing it, is a form of mockery. We cannot remain neutral. We either bow the knee to Jesus as Lord now, in love and submission, or we will bow the knee later in judgment. The choice is ours. Let us choose to follow Christ wholeheartedly, embracing His sacrifice and living lives that honor Him.
    • Application: Publicly affirm your allegiance to Christ. This could be through sharing your testimony with someone, participating in a church service, or simply living openly and consistently as a Christian in your daily life.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, we confess You as our King and Savior. We choose to follow You, to submit to Your authority, and to live for Your glory. Help us to be faithful witnesses, reflecting Your love and truth in a world that desperately needs You. Come, Lord Jesus. Amen.
