Day 2: Forsaken for Our Sake
Day 2: Forsaken for Our Sake Reading: Psalm 22:1-18 Devotional: Jesus' cry of "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" echoes the words of this psalm. As you read, imagine Christ on the cross, experiencing the anguish of separation from the Father. This was the ultimate act of substitution - Jesus being forsaken so that we never would be. How does this deepen your understanding of God's love? Today, meditate on times when you've felt alone or abandoned. Remember that because of Christ's sacrifice, God promises never to leave or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
